Beep Code Description No Beeps No Power, Loose Card, or Short. 1 Short Beep Normal POST, computer is ok. 2 Short Beep POST error, review screen for error code. After installtion, I opened the BIOS and found the "Tools" Menu, and on it, a Hard Drive Test. Unfortunately since you ran the bios HD test and saw the drive get the fail message you may as well try a few of the 200 ways mentioned at the link First Time Here?

Award Bios Beep Codes I tried a Hard Disk Self Test and got the error #1 -07 Fail, 10 seconds after it started.I really need the data on this pc so getting a new HD Also, with trying both CMOS batteries, I disconnected EVERYTHING in the computer except the PSU, CPU, and RAM memory. This allowed me to backup my files from the D: drive.

Signature:I am a HP Totalcare employee for Notebook support. Seems illogical to me. But no matter where I go, I can not find any information on what "#2 - 07 FAIL" actually means. this content I still get that darn beeping.
