I did notice a paper jam before this happened. The printer works great - unknown I have had my MP830 over a year with no problems. I have turned the machine on and off, but always the same error. Canon 6a00 I have jiggled the purge unit (moves, but not much... 1/4 inch or so), and slid the ink-tank housing back and forth.

I put my hand in and found that there is spring there that had come loose. But hey of this was the case then they wouldn't make their $60 to fix the problem. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. is it not printing text or graphics? Using a damp cloth wipe all around where the cartridges normally rest. I knocked it loose, and its working great now.
